ARISE

North Carolina Presbyterian ARISE is a movement of Christian renewal based in the beliefs of the Christian Church.

An ARISE retreat is an encounter with Christ in which the participants become part of a community abounding in Gods grace. It is a weekend based on faith building and strengthening of relationships both with Christ and other youth. ARISE is a God centered community, in which a wide variety of youth grow together in fun, fellowship and worship of Jesus Christ. On your journey of faith, ARISE is a stepping stone that can give you an awareness of your responsibilities as a Christian. News - ARISE 28 *AND* 29

Hello ARISE community.

After much prayer, we feel that God is leading us to start another ARISE weekend. Please believe, this is not a drastic decision- as it is something the council has discussed, prayed about, worked on, looked for appropriate weekends and camps for many years. Due to complications each time, however, it has been delayed. The time has finally come, where we finally feel that God is setting the pieces in place. Currently, we are still finalizing a camp, however- we have set things in motion to have 2 ARISE weekends on Labor Day of 2009. Julie Duncan and Robert Martin will lead ARISE 28 at Camp Rock Fish and Sarah King Townsend and Luke Hester will lead ARISE 29 at a Camp in Western North Carolina (soon to be announced).

Please understand, we do not want these weekends to be in competition with each other. We feel as if they will allow opportunity for more of the ARISE community to get involved; as well as the ability for us to reach out better to the far Eastern and Western parts of the state, by allowing the youth involved and the guests and families we are asking to go to not have to drive so far. We will continue to come together for community days and celebrate as a community of one.
